The origin of this book is Neil McGregor’s ‘A History of the World in 100 Objects.’ Neil McGregor is an art historian and the head of the British Museum. He tried to narrate the story of the world by selecting 100 objects from different eras, starting from ancient artefacts, technological tools, and weapons and telling their stories. Likewise, Marudhan has tried to disentangle the chords of women’s history, told through 50 objects. Not only tangible things are objects. Peace, heroism, history, revolution, and politics are all objects. It is true that a woman and a man are not the same. The world does not treat both equally. It does not give the same experiences to both. Both have not got the same life and the same feelings. Both are not born the same, never lived the same. Has never even died the same. It is not the same world for both men and women; we live in two different worlds. All we have so far is the history of one world. What we have seen so far is the view from one eye. We need to know the history of another world. Many people like Rosalind Miles have discovered this world which has been in darkness for a long time. We have to open our other eye to see that world
